Did You Miss Us?

You can always expect things to be interesting around here!  I am officially in a cast for my wrist now.  I ended up going to the hospital with my friend Beth, and the doc said I had severely inflamed tendons.  My x-rays came back questionable, so they want me to get an MRI.  We’ll see how that comes out!  I’ve been having fun figuring out how to pick Eli up and feed him with my plastered up arm.  Sadly, I’m unable to change diapers…darn.

Speaking of Eli, guess who’s two months now?  Look at this sweet face!

He’s quite the conversationalist now.  He is so close to laughing too!  We got a little video of his happy sounds a few days ago:

My little boy is growing up so fast!  I’ve got tons to write about him once I have both my hands to type with!

Jeremy is officially home now and mighty jetlagged.  I’m so glad to have him back!  I fall apart when he’s not around (literally).  Unfortunately, he won’t have long to adjust because we fly to America tomorrow!  We’re excited to get the chance to introduce Eli to everyone!  We’ll be there for two weeks, so it looks like we’ll be falling off the face of the blogging world again.  We’ll be better when we’re back at home and have use of all our limbs again.  I hope to see a lot of you soon!

It's Hard To Say Goodbye

Sometimes being a grownup and having to make responsible choices…well, it stinks.  Unfortunately, my country song is finished.  I may not have had a dog, but I had the best two bunnies in the world.  After much discussion, Jeremy and I made the difficult decision to give our furry babies away.  Our life is very different now than when we adopted them.  We travel all the time and have to leave them alone for weeks on end.  We now have a baby that consumes all our attention and energy.  They simply weren’t getting the affection they deserved.  We felt their quality of life would be much better in another home.  I took them to a lady yesterday that specializes in finding good homes for bunnies.  I know she will take great care of them and find a wonderful place for them to live.  I don’t mean for my blogs to be all “woe is me” lately, but if any of you have met me for 10 seconds, you know I love these little creatures.  It was a great three years, and I’ll miss them so much!

My Country Song

For whatever reason, a lot has been happening to get me down lately. As my mom put it a couple of days ago, “You sound like a country song...if you had a dog, that sucker would be dead!” Gotta love the mommy logic. Anyway, you haven’t heard from me lately because somehow I’ve hurt my wrist. The tendons and muscles are pulled so bad, my doc wanted to put me in a cast. When I reminded him about my new baby, he decided to give me a week to try to heal a little to avoid the plaster. I’m typing with one hand, so please excuse my spelling errorrsss. :o) The rest of my country lyrics would be:

My husband done went to ‘nother country
My wrist has gone all funky on me
I have a bad cold, can’t breathe no more
My brand new car has a big hole in the door
A slit in my tummy made it hard to smile
But my baby’s sweet face made it all worthwhile.
(commence with some whistling and banjo playing)

Speaking of Eli, he’s doing great. We just had another doctor’s appointment this week, and he’s up to 11 pounds! I’m feeding this boy good! He’s even wearing some 3 month clothes. He is smiling and cooing all the time now. Unfortunately with my wrist, mom has to lift him anytime he needs picking up or feeding. She even has to get up with me during the night! I’m so glad she is here!

There are lots of other things to write about, but I’m afraid it will have to wait till I can use both hands! Keep us in your prayers!
