Do you get it? Today is Eli’s first Halloween, however we live in a country that doesn’t really celebrate it…or at least celebrate it as Americans do. I would love to dress Eli up as an adorable elephant, lion, or dung beetle, but I have never seen a costume here for small children. Maybe I’m just not looking in the right spot, but even if I did, there would be no place to show him off! Oh well, we enjoyed today’s lazy day, and we have had some fun playing with gourds. Don’t worry, you read that correctly!

Na Na sent Eli some first Halloween pajamas, so he was at least able to wear something festive! Thanks, Na Na! Have I mentioned how hard it is to get a good picture of him now? He is constant motion, so most of the time, they look like this…
Today was another first because we attempted to give Eli his first “real” haircut. When he was 2 months old, I cut off a rattail he was born with, but I don’t really count that. Today I actually cut off around an inch and a half at the bottom and around the ears. This boy had a lot of hair! You can kind of see "the before" in this shot.
And “the after” is this!
I didn’t do the best of job because, well, do you remember the motion picture?? But it won’t hang over his ears anymore, and hopefully people with stop telling me what a gorgeous girl I have!! :o)
The Wilson household has been pretty low-key lately. Jeremy finally has a normal schedule, so he is at home a lot more. We are trying to get caught up on errands and the house to-do list, but also a lot of together time. Eli is at such a fun age right now, so we are really trying to soak it in! The music at church is also going well, and we are starting to see some improvement in the flow and organization. This definitely helps make it a more worshipful experience when you aren’t stressed out. Please continue to pray for us as we are still trying to find our place as leaders!
I hope you all have a safe and happy Halloween! Everyone eat some candy corn and Reese’s Peanut butter Cups for me!
p.s. I just realized my clever pun in the title actually works in German too. “Hallo” is the German word for “hello,” and of course, “Wiener” is “Viennese.” So, apparently not only is it Eli’s first Halloween, but it’s also his first hello to a Viennese person!
