Freedom

I love our pack n' play. It is a great invention to give parents a tiny bit of free time to get some supper started or go to the bathroom and not have to worry if their crawling child is setting the house on fire. Eli likes it too! I usually put a big, bouncy ball in there, and he just goes nuts sending it from side to side. But I guess the big question is "how do you know when he's ready to get out?"

I don't know...

I just get this motherly intuition.

I can't explain it...

But I usually can tell. :o) I guess we all like to have our freedom!

We’ve been having a nice few days because my mom is in town! She arrived on Tuesday morning happy, but jetlagged. People just like being around this little guy!

Nothing much else has been going on…just a lot of playing and hanging out. Tomorrow we will be going to our church’s “Get Connected Dinner.” This is an event for newcomers to Vienna that is aimed at giving them some pointers and introducing them to some people who have been in their shoes. I will be singing some bluegrass…don’t ask…and there will be various other forms of entertainment. With any luck, I’ll be singing during the dining portion of the evening, so the food will distract from my twangilicious vocals. One can only hope!

Jeremy is still in Japan…and will be for a while. I certainly miss him, but I’m so thankful for technology, and the fact that we can see him via web cam. This helps him be away from Eli too. While he is gone I’m hoping to take advantage of this beautiful late summer weather and get out to do some stuff with mom. She’s never been to Vienna during the “green season,” so it will be a welcome change for her. When we were driving home from the airport, she said, “you DO have flowers here!” I’ve got so much to show her! :o)
