Not much has been going on in the Wilson household the past week except for lots of organizing and cleaning of the house. We started the process of painting and had to stop to go buy a sander. The last tenants did a ridiculous job patching the wall, and it basically looks like they globbed on the paste. So, when we painted over it, it looked like our walls had the chicken pox…or small pox…well, some sort of pox anyway. Other than that, we have settled in quite nicely!
Last Friday, Eli had an appointment with the pediatrician to make sure he was still gaining weight. He weighted in at 9 lbs. 2 oz., so he had gained over a pound in just 10 days. He definitely likes to eat! Next time we go, he’ll start getting vaccinations, which I’m not happy about. I don’t want to see my baby hurt! :o(
We also all went to church for the first time this past Sunday. They even had a rose for Eli in the service! It was so nice getting out and seeing familiar faces again. We chatted for a long while afterwards, and Eli was such a good boy. I wasn’t sure how the loud music would settle with him, but he never even woke once! I tell you, a car ride does wonders when you want to put your child into a coma! Here is a picture of our happy family before we left:

We are definitely getting the snow in our new little town of Sommerein. It’s funny because “sommer” is the German word for “summer.” We have been getting a lot more snow here than in the city because we are at a slightly higher altitude. I love it because it is so beautiful with the trees and hills. Since I don’t want to reveal our house till we’ve completely finished painting and decorating, I thought I could at least show you the snow laden view from our windows.

And here is a view on the third floor from the gigantic windows in an area we’ve dubbed “The Grand Atrium:”

I’ve also uploaded some of other photos of the past month. Click here to see them!

Your little family is stunning and so is your view! I am so jealous! :)
Kristi, our daughter lives in Sommerein and I thought it might be interesting for you to contact her.
I don't know how to pass on her information, ie email address, tele number etc. Send me an email if you are interested. Rosie
